SO....WHY USE LeakChecks® ???

  • Instantaneous Results. The LeakChecks® program allows for the Client to utilize maximum potential for Contractor and Engineering time upon completion of a test. There is essentially no stand by time waiting on an engineer to run their respected calculations and provide a final response since squeeze volume calculations are done in real time.
  • Minimize Downtime. LeakChecks® can be used in day or night tests. Night tests allow for tests to be completed at night or very early am, which also allows to very minimal to zero contractor downtime during the day. The cost savings to allow construction to continue working during the day without hydrotesting to limit startup schedule cannot be overstated.
  • User Friendly. The LeakChecks® program utilizes multiple codes including, CFR 192, CFR 195, B31.3 and B31.8 piping codes and is very user friendly for engineers and non-engineers alike.
  • Maximum Flexibility. One of the most important aspects of LeakChecks® is it allows flexibility on semi-failed tests. If, for example, the test had a 2 hour period where the squeeze calculations did not allow for a passed test (mostly due to temperature fluctuations because of the time of day and incremental weather conditions), the Engineer can direct the Contractor to continue running the test for an additional two hours for a total of ten hours until the program shows “PASS”. With any other option the test would be executed; followed by an Engineer report of a failed test. A complete re-test would then be required. Thus LeakChecks® eliminates the need for a test to span for days.
  • Visualize Design. Elevation inputs allow for head calculations to provide SMYS at high, low and test points during test design. This is very critical for pipelines that have large elevation differences where the Engineer can easily see what test pressure ranges provide %SMYS and know he/she is designing a test within the applicable Code.
